Dua for Shifa and Healing

We have all been hurt in many ways, physical and emotional. We do our best to handle ourselves in this world by taking the right medicine for our bodies. Yet, we need to address the spiritual side of our healing as well. Allah has given us many ways to heal ourselves, such as the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ).

Here are a few dua from the Quran and Sunnah to help with healing. May Allah grant us all shifa.

Dua for Shifa (Healing) #1

Then, eat from all the fruits, and go along the pathways of your Lord made easy for you. From their (the bees) bellies comes out a drink of various colors in which there is cure for people. Surely, in that there is a sign for a people who ponder. From Surah An-Nahl (16), Ayat 69.

Dua for Shifa (Healing) #2

Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times. From Sahih al-Bukhari 5017.

Do not worry, it will be a purification (for you), Allah willing. Hisn al-Muslim 147.
