Dua for Forgiveness

With the freedom of choice Allah has blessed us, we all have the capacity to do good in this world or bring about suffering. But Allah SWT is Merciful, and bestows upon us with forgiveness as one of the greatest blessings given to us.

The dua listed here can be recited with sincerity should you feel the need to ask for forgiveness from Allah. May Allah SWT forgive us all and guide us to the straight path.

Dua for Forgiveness #1

O Allah! You are my Lord. There is no true God except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So, forgive me, for indeed, no one forgives sins but You. From Sahih al-Bukhari 6306.

Dua for Forgiveness #2

Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” From Surah Az-Zumar (39), Ayat 53.

Dua for Forgiveness #3

Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be lost. From Surah Al-Araf (7), Ayat 23.
