Anxiety afflicts us all in today's challenging world. As Muslims we are lucky to have the power of Allah to support us when we are feeling troubled, anxious, and stressed. We hope these three short, simple duas will help you remember Allah and bring you peace and comfort.
Dua for Anxiety #1 - Protection
اللَّهُمَّ
إِنِّي
أَعُوذُ
بِكَ
مِنَ
الْهَمِّ
وَالْحُزْنِ
وَالْعَجْزِ
وَالْكَسَلِ
وَالْجُبْنِ
وَالْبُخْلِ
وَضَلَعِ
الدَّيْنِ
وَغَلَبَةِ
الرِّجَالِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in you from grief and sadness, from weakness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from being overcome by debt and overpowered by others. From Sahih al-Bukhari 6369.
This dua is an incredible reminder that Allah is our protector, and a reminder that with the power of Allah supporting us, to take control of our lives and not let our worries and fears control us.
Dua for Anxiety #2 - Replace My Stresses
إِنَّا
للهِ
وَإِنَّا
إِلَيْهِ
رَاجِعُوْنَ،
اللَّهمَّ
أْجُرْنِي
فِي
مُصِيْبَتِي،
وَاخْلُفْ
لِي
خَيْرا
ً
مِنْهَا

To Allah, we belong, and unto Him is our return. O Allah, recompense me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better. From Sahih Muslim 918b.
A direct plea to Allah to help us through these tough times immediately, with recompensation for your struggles in this life or in the next.
Dua for Anxiety #3 - Immediate Help
أَنِّي
مَسَّنِيَ
الضُّرُّ
وَأَنتَ
أَرْحَمُ
الرَّاحِمِينَ
Indeed, distress has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful. From Surah Anbya (21), Ayat 83.
More is to be said of this Ayat, but the core of it is a reminder that Allah is the most merciful, and that we should always turn to Him in times of need. This dua is a reminder that Allah is always there for us, and that we should always turn to Him in times of need.
